Professional Dance Classes in London


The Place Contemporary Classes
Contemporary technique classes for dancers run from 9am -10.30 am in studio 8. The Robert Cohan Studio is open from 8.30am. The fee for professional class is £4 per class or £35 for a ten class card. Classes are run throughout the year with breaks over the Christmas and Easter holidays, and do not run on bank holidays.  



ID Dance
Professional Release Based Classes and Monday Night Improv provide a learning environment to support the mindful curiosity and physical intelligence of the dancer. Each teacher brings to the class a unique amalgamation of their experiences. Classes are held on weekdays from 10.00 till 12.00. One class costs £4.50 and a 10 class card £35 (valid indefinitely).

Greenwich Dance Agency Contemporary Classes


Greenwich Dance provides a supportive and inspiring environment for dance artists giving them the opportunity to maintain and develop their skills, extend their practice, take daily classes, create new work, rehearse, share ideas, present work-in-progress and perform in a range of settings. Have a look at the class schedule and you will see that there are quite a few contemporary companies who teach class at gDa......Need I say more?!?!?!

London Contact Improvisation-thanks Adrian!
London Contact Improvisation (LCI) is a non-profit group promoting contact
improvisation in London. The organisation was founded in April 2001 by
Kate Hilder, Robert Anderson and Joukje Kolff to organise weekly classes 
and jams in London. At the time there were no regular contact improvisation
classes or jams in London.

LCI has organised various weekend jams, summer jams in 2001 and 2002 and 
three seasons of weekly classes and jams. The season in 2001-2002 was funded 
by Awards for All, the 2002-2003 season was funded by London Arts and the 
2003-2004 was funded by the Arts Council of England. All seasons have been 
supported by the Moving East Centre for Dance, Martial Arts and Complementary Medicine.

Tory Jestyn   
           
Tory teaches a Contemporary Ballet Class at Pineapple Dance Studios. Classes cost £7 and you have to pay a £2 entrance fee.
Her classes are hugely popular and visited by all kinds of dancers. Tory has a page on Facebook and regularly writes updates about her class.

  1. There's an amazing "acro for dancers" class at DanceWorks on thursdays. It's taught by Adam Pudney, who's a former ballet dancer. It's great for versatility and learning tricks!

  4. We mentioned Lyndsey McConville on Thurs evening. She teaches this coming Friday 28th Oct at Independent Dance (Siobhan Davies Studios) 10am to noon.
    Also, she is teaching at Greenwich Dance 10.30am 7th-11th Nov.

  5. Hello Girls, boys and girly boyzzz,

    Ballet black has classes every sunday at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden(Half of 1st already attend so get on it guys). The class is £4, which is very cheap for a Ballet class and you also get to do class in a studio where all those amazing ballerinas Practise..ps:on a good day you can even get to see them do class. So yeah come along. Note: you do not have to be Black to attend. Peace out xxx

  7. Gary Clarke is Doing Professional Class at Greenwich this week mon-fri at 10.30 its quite cheap £4.20. I know some of the guys auditioned for him at the end of last year and it would be a good way to get your face seen again.
